Member of the Board of the EABC; Vice-President and past Chairman of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce Paul Koenig had a diverse career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. In his most recent appointment, Paul was responsible for PricewaterhouseCoopers’s delivery to its foreign owned clients. These represented around 30% of the revenues of PwC in Australia. In this role Paul was also responsible for the various Country Desks maintained by the firm as well as its relationship with PwC in the head office territory of these clients. Prior to his return to Australia in July 2008, Paul was the Eurofirms Markets Leader for Tax & Legal Services based in Dusseldorf, Germany. He was responsible for the delivery of tax & legal services to some 20 countries across Western Europe, generating revenues in excess of Euro 1bn. He was also a member of the firm’s Global Tax & Legal Services Leadership Team (which he first joined in 1997). Paul was the Australian Tax & Legal Services Leader from 2000 to 2005. Prior to this, Paul had been National Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal since its establishment in April 1999. Paul joined the firm as a graduate in 1981, and has been a partner for almost 22 years. He has held numerous senior positions within the tax practice since then whilst at the same time being one of Australia’s leading tax advisors. Paul has also been the head of the firm’s German Client Services Team for many years . He was on secondment to the Frankfurt office of the firm in 1985/86 and to Eurofirms from 2005 to 2008. |
