EABC Programmes and EventsEABC’s programmes include our flagship series of boardroom events, receptions, major events, business missions and delegations, conferences and seminars.
Our boardroom programme has become one of Australia’s most influential corporate forums, with over 150 events held since 2002 with political and business leaders, departmental chiefs and regulators, diplomats and visiting international figures.
To ensure maximum opportunity for free and frank exchange, these events are held in private dining facilities and limited to 20-30 guests. Boardroom events occur 2-3 times per month. A list of upcoming speakers can be found here.
Receptions & Major EventsLarger events are held with senior Ministers, visiting European Commissioners, delegations and other speakers from time to time.
Occurring 2-3 times per year, larger events have featured speakers including European Commissioners and former Commissioners Pascal Lamy, Lord (Chris) Patten, Lord (Leon) Brittan, Peter Sutherland and NAB Group CEO John Stewart.
EABC undertakes an annual Business Mission to Europe in late May/early June of Australian business leaders to the European Commission in Brussels, and to capital or major industrial cities in other European Union Member States such as Berlin, Budapest, Hamburg, London, Madrid, Paris and Venice.
EABC assists government agencies and member organisations in
hosting delegations from EU institutions, most notably from the
European Commission and the European Parliament; and visiting
Ministers and trade delegations from EU Member States. EABC
has in recent years hosted high-level delegations by the Prime
Ministers of Sweden and The Netherlands, the Presidents of
Finland and Lithuania, and others.
Planning for our third Business Mission to Europe is well underway, which will visit Vienna, Budapest, Madrid, Paris and Brussels from 25th May to 4th June 2008. In the first quarter of 2008 we will also organise a two-day event in Canberra to meet with Ministers, senior officials and regulators to discuss issues affecting European investment in Australia.
Conferences & SeminarsEABC also organises various activities such as conferences, seminars, roundtable forums, press conferences, international media briefings and other activities. Examples include a national roadshow on the introduction of the Euro, and a conference to examine legislative and regulatory changes to the EU financial services regime.
Core participants in EABC programmes and events include Corporate and Charter Members, and members of the EABC Corporate Council.
Other invited guests include Embassies, Trade Offices and Consulates, government departments and agencies, industry associations, policy institutes and universities.
