The EABC undertakes Australian Business Missions to Europe regularly. The mission visits Brussels and other EU Member states for dialogue with European Commissioners, Ministers and senior officials, and representatives of peak European organisations and senior officials, and representatives of peak European business organisations and policy institutes.

Past missions have included the cities of; Brussels, Berlin, Budapest, London, Hamburg, Madrid, Paris, Toulouse, Venice and Warsaw.

2010 Australian Business Mission to Europe - June

The 2010 Mission programme included Brussels, Antwerp, Geneva, Lausanne and Istanbul from 13 to 18 June, with follow-up briefing and discussion events held in Paris on 22 June, and in London on 25 June. Prior to departure, EABC Members met with the Hon Stephen Smith, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and received detailed briefings from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.

The 2010 Mission was made up of fifteen senior business figures from among the EABC Board, Corporate Council and Corporate Members, led by President Alastair Walton, Senior Vice-President Charles Curran, and Vice-President Stephen Loosley. 

The delegation included representatives of a broad range of Australian and multi-national corporations and institutions from banking and financial services, business services, education, resources and energy, retail, construction and engineering, transport and logistics, healthcare, and defence.   

Organisations represented included the Australian National University, BHP Billiton, Brambles, Carla Zampatti Group, Goldman Sachs JBWere, Leighton Holdings, Macquarie Group, Minter Ellison, Monash University, PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia, Servcorp, and Thales Australia.

The delegation was accompanied by EABC Chief Executive Officer Jason Collins, and Director of Membership and Programmes Jo Johns (Mission Secretary).

2008 Australian Business Mission to Europe

The third European Australian Business Council Business Mission to Europe, held from the 25th May to 4th June 2008, was led by the EABC President, Alastair Walton.  With the support of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and teh European Commission, the Mission held meetings in Austria, Hungary, Spain, France and Belgium.
